FAQ

Do you require a booking fee?

Yes. A $100.00 booking fee is required at the time of booking. This is to secure your spot since I am a very busy entertainer. The booking fee can be paid with any major credit card.

Can we have more than one child celebrate their birthday party?

Yes, the more the merrier. I would be happy to celebrate more than one child’s birthday. However, since one birthday child is included in each one of my packages, will need to add a surcharge for each additional birthday child beyond the first. Just to cover my costs. The following surcharge will apply to the following packages.

Silver: $5.00 for each additional birthday child.

Gold: $10.00 for each additional birthday child.

Platinum: $20.00 for each additional birthday child.

Can we book more time for balloons after the first 30 minutes is up?

Yes, you may. I would recommend booking more time if you forecast that more than 15 kids are coming to your child’s party.

Each additional hour of balloons is $150

What is the age range of kids your perform for?

I perform for the age ranges of 3-11.

Is the show clean and age appropriate?

Yes! I take pride in that my show is specifically geared towards children ages 3-11. Most magicians don’t have an age specific show. I specialize in entertaining children with clean and fun magic.

How much space do you need?

For my equipment and props, I need about a 10 ‘ by 10‘ area. Usually, your living room is a perfect place for this. Other than that, an area right in front of my performing area for the children to sit and enjoy the show is all that is needed. If balloon art is booked in conjunction with the magic show, the same 10′ by 10’ space will be used for balloon art.

Do you need a table?

No, my setup is self-contained thus, I wouldn’t need a table. I also bring other tables as well for my show.

Can you perform the show outdoors?

I can perform my magic show outdoors, While the show quality would be better indoors, outdoor shows are possible.

What area do you perform in?

I perform all over in Southern California. If your party is outside Southern California, please give me a call at (714)-392-2270 or email me at brett@brettsothegreat.com that way, we can discuss your party further.

How many balloons do you use on average to make a sculpture?

It depends on what is being made. Most of my sculptures use anywhere from 4-9 balloons each.

How long does one of your balloon sculptures last?

Most of my balloon sculptures usually last 2-3 weeks if kept in a cool place for everyone to see. Some clients even told me that some have lasted longer than that.

What Makes your balloons different?

My balloons are unique due to the fact that I use more balloons in my sculptures than the average balloon twister. I also add unique magical elements to my balloons that most people wouldn’t expect to work with balloons. I also use the highest quality balloons that money could buy. They are not the cheap knock off balloons that you would find in target or Party City. Most of the creation that I make require the very best in balloons.

Can we serve the kids food, snacks, and beverages during your show?

Well, it’s your home so you can do whatever you’d like… however, I do recommend serving treats & drinks before or after the show. It’s a HUGE distraction for the kids. Not only eating the snack but then the serving of it and cleaning up that takes place. At this age, they need the least amount of distractions as possible. So I HIGHLY recommend NOT serving goodies during the performance (also because it’s a show based on audience interaction and participation… I need their hands to be free…besides, it could turn messy).

When should I serve food and cake?

The best time to serve food and cake is after the magic show. Especially if the cake is served before the magic show, it can make it more difficult for kids to stay focused on the magic show.

Can we give the balloons or goodie bags to children under the age of 3?

I can’t control what happens after I leave the party but please don’t give the goodie bags or balloons to children under the age of the 3. There are small parts in there and I’d rather be safe than sorry. Also, please read above question.

When’s a good time to have you begin your show?

A good general rule of thumb is to have my show begin about a half hour after the party is to begin. This prevents distractions from late arriving guests. The show is 45 minutes in length and if balloon art is requested as well, the total performance time is 1 hour and 45 minutes.

I’m celebrating more than one child’s birthday, can you still entertain at our party?

Yes! I then have all of the b-day children be the stars of the show. Everything else is the same except we have a few more lucky participants!

Can we hire you to entertain our children in one room while all of the adults hang out in another room?

Due to liability issues, I do require that all of the children be supervised at all times by at least one responsible adult (besides me). I simply can’t be held responsible for supervising them. This is to protect you, the children and myself.

Can we invite young infants and babies to the party?

Since it’s your party, you may do whatever you’d like. However, I do recommend NOT having children under the age of 3 present, only because they often are a distraction to the children and adults who are trying to enjoy the magic show. Same thing goes with your pets. Please keep your pets in a separate area (sorry Tinker Bell).
